Through your participation to the first module of our "Become an AIFMD risk manager" programme, you should now have a good understanding of the regulatory risk management framework and know how to build it when it comes to alternative investments.

In order to complement your learning journey, we have created 2 specific modules focusing on private equity and real estate. With these modules, you will now explore the connection between the valuation function and risk management function and how it is essential for a comprehensive understanding of financial management. In today's complex financial landscape, where uncertainty is a constant companion, understanding the profound relationship between these two functions is not just advantageous – it's imperative.

Throughout the training, we will navigate the landscape of valuation and risk management, examining their mutual influence and learning how to leverage their interconnectedness for optimal results. We will explore the nuances of how valuation assumptions impact risk assessments, and how the evaluation of risks, in turn, refines valuation models.

This training is coordinated by Benjamin Gauthier and Alexandre Goossens, Partners at PwC Luxembourg.

Benjamin is a partner in the risk and regulatory team of PwC Luxembourg. He is playing an active role in the development of risk management practice for the asset management industry (including traded and non traded assets) considering both the regulatory requirements (i.e. UCITS IV, AIFMD) and best practices. He participated and led numerous risk management assignments including risk profiling and reporting.

Alexandre is a partner responsible for the real estate and infrastructure advisory services. Alexandre is in charge with the set up of risk management tools for funds investing in alternative assets (real estate, infrastructure, real estate debt). He is also an active member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
