Goals

This training is designed to demystify the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reporting key concepts and requirements for Insurance companies (Life and/or Non Life) and highlight the organisational and operational challenges and impacts. A particular focus will be placed on the specifics of insurance undertakings, in all industry segments, and consider real-life projects takeaway and wider industry benchmarking.

By the end of the training, participants will:

  • gain a good understanding of CSRD requirements, along with the organisational and operational related impacts and challenges on insurance companies (life and/or non-life);
  • be able to implement a practical high-level roadmap to ensure future compliance with CSRD.

Contents

  • Main concepts and requirements (timeline, scoping, value chain/boundaries, Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), datapoints);
  • Impacts and challenges specific to the insurance industry;
  • Governance and responsibilities for the Board, the management, the audit committee, CSO and CFO.

This training is coordinated by Julien Melotte, Partner, and Amra Sejtarija Muharemovic and Claire Cherpion, Directors at PwC Luxembourg.

Julien is a sustainability and audit partner having more than 15 years expertise in advising or auditing large listed groups headquartered in Luxembourg. He is leading PwC’s Luxembourg corporate sustainability consulting and assurance practices with a clear focus on sustainability strategy, non-financial reporting (CSRD readiness and assurance), transformation and assurance.

He is also leading the Broader Assurance Services practice in Luxembourg with particular focus on sustainability, data assurance, IT risks and processes and controls.

As a process and controls expert, Julien manages significant finance and non-financial transformation projects for clients operating in various industries.

Amra is an ESG assurance and advisory specialist.

She is a director working in the risk assurance services, focusing on EU ESG regulation requirements. In recent years, she shifted her focus on ESG related topics specialising in CSRD/ESRS reporting requirements.

She has also performed several readiness assessments regarding client's maturity towards CSRD/ESRS compliance and assurance reviews (ISAE 3000) assessing the compliance with GRI/SASB standards.

Claire focuses on sustainability reporting assurance and consulting. She provides leadership and C-suite strategy advice on ESG for clients in financial services, corporations, SME’s and the public sector.

She is actively involved in PwC's CSRD/TCFD working groups. She is certified by Cambridge business and climate change – Towards net zero emissions.
