Nearly 60 students awarded grants for international mobility

11.06.2024

International mobility is one of the University's distinct features and mobility opportunities are sought after by many students.

This year, 12 students received the Top Student Prize, co-founded by Sophia University, which allows them to participate in the annual summer school at Sophia University in Tokyo. The U.S Embassy conferred the U.S. Embassy Scholarship to seven students for a study opportunity in a partner university in the United States. Both scholarships increased the number of students awarded this year.

In addition, 39 students were selected for the University's Global Exchange Programme, which allows Bachelor or Master students to carry out a semester in one of the 40 partner universities worldwide.

"It has always been my dream to go to the United States and study there. I seized the opportunity provided by the University to go. I wanted to do my Master's in Italy, but since the University of Luxembourg offers the chance to go outside of Europe, I chose Luxembourg."
— Liri, Master of Science in Finance and Economics, University of Luxembourg

"I chose the University of Luxembourg because of the programmes offered, and the possibility to go abroad for a semester was a bonus that encouraged me to come."
— Marie, Master of Science in Finance and Economics, University of Luxembourg

The event was held with the attendance of Prof. Marie-Hélène Jobin, Vice-Rector for Partnerships and International Relations, Masamichi Ito, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg, and Mike Konstantino, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the United States in Luxembourg.

International experience is an advantage for students who build new relations, acquire precious knowledge and return with new perspectives in mind. This dynamic is a privilege for the Uni.lu campus life, as it contributes to a multilingual, multicultural and open environment.

Each Bachelor student will carry out one semester abroad as part of their study programme. In addition, talented students can apply for numerous opportunities with partner institutions or for grant for studying abroad.
