• Knowing the key legislative texts.
• Understanding the practical implications of the main principles of personal data protection: lawfulness and fairness, transparency, integrity and confidentiality, accountability, data protection by design and by default.
• Knowing the different stages of compliance with the GDPR as well as the time required to implement them and integrate the components of the proof of conformity.
• Being able to map the processing to secure the processing circuits and the personal data.
• Understanding the apportionment of liability between the different actors in the personal data processing chain and identify the personal data processor.
• Informing data subjects (principle of transparency).
• Understanding the issues and risks of national and international data transfers and how to ensure the security of these transfers at the contractual level.
• Understanding contractual compliance: study of the various clauses to be used for the protection of personal data (information, consent, processing of personal data on behalf of the controller, general compliance of suppliers, employment contracts) and understanding of the limitation of liability limitation clauses.
• Understanding the rights of the data subject and the limits within which those rights can be exercised.
• Understanding the principle of free and unambiguous consent and recognizing situations in which it is not necessary to obtain such consent (performance of a contract, unsolicited electronic communications).
