Diplom+ course

General information

Diplom+ is a short, flexible course for young people who have obtained the diploma for the successful completion of secondary education (classical or general), a technician's diploma or an equivalent degree and are neither enrolled for higher education nor in employment.

Once they have their diploma, these young people are faced with a major choice: to pursue higher education or embark on a career in the world of work.

The Diplom+ course guides them by offering additional skills such as IT proficiency, project management, communication techniques, time management and the development of team spirit and a sense of initiative.

This course aims to increase their chances of finding a job or successfully completing higher education studies.

Structure

The course is spread over three semesters with an average weekly duration of 25 hours.

It is delivered in Luxembourgish, French, German and English.

• The training comprises 8 shared modules and one package to choose from:
• Crafts (cookery, sewing, joinery)
• Design IT (Web Design, Graphic Design, Design & 3D Printing), or
• IT (Coding, Data Analysis, Learning Strategies).

• In addition to the modules, a practical project is carried out, either in the form of a work placement in a company or within an organisation. This provides a field-based learning experience, enabling the skills acquired during the training to be developed and put into practice.

Participants may leave the course at any time if they get a job, start a course in higher education, or change direction.

A certificate is awarded for each module completed before leaving the course (certificate of successful completion if at least 80% of the module has been attended and the final assessment is positive), and this module can thus be valued subsequently.
