Encouraging companies to take on apprentices as part of initial and adult apprenticeships
The Employment agency (Agence pour le développement de l’emploi – ADEM) offers aids to companies taking on apprentices:
This support is open to any company established in Luxembourg, which is entitled to train apprentices and which has employed an apprentice on the basis of an apprenticeship contract or an adult apprenticeship contract.
The trade or profession concerned must be listed in the Grand-Ducal Regulation determining the professions and trades recognised in the context of vocational training.

Employers who take on an apprentice may obtain reimbursement of part of the apprenticeship allowance and reimbursement of the employer's share of social security costs.

Employers who take on an apprentice (over 18 years of age) and pay the social minimum wage for unskilled workers may obtain reimbursement of the supplementary allowance.
The supplementary allowance is the difference between the amount of the social minimum wage for unskilled workers and the apprenticeship allowance paid during initial training.
