L'apprentissage transfrontalier

General information

A cross-border apprenticeship scheme is training under an apprenticeship contract where

• the practical component is carried out in a working environment in a training company located in Luxembourg and
• the theoretical component is provided by an approved school in the Greater Region.

A cross-border apprenticeship can be completed for all the trades and professions defined by the Grand Ducal Regulation of 15 July 2024 on the trades and professions in the framework of vocational training.

To begin a cross-border apprenticeship, you must submit a written application to the Department of Vocational Training of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth (MENJE). The ADEM-OP and relevant professional chambers then will inform the MENJE’s vocational training department of their decision.

The next steps are then identical to those for adult apprenticeships.
