Goals

At this A2 level, you are able to communicate about your daily life in simple terms.

For example, you could:

  • describe your personal and professional environment (people, places, education, work)
  • exchange simple information and ideas
  • tell a short and simple event
  • write simple notes and letters
  • understand short and simple texts

Can understand phrases and expressions related to areas familiar to the user, such as basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment.

Can communicate simply in familiar situations which require a brief and precise exchange of information.

You can briefly describe aspects of your knowledge, the environment in which you live and your immediate needs.

I understand common phrases and vocabulary on topics of personal interest (very basic personal and family information, shopping, place of residence, employment).

I can capture the main idea in short, clear and simple warnings and messages.

I can read very short and simple texts. I can find precise and predictable information in simple, everyday writing such as advertisements, flyers, menus and timetables, and I understand short, simple personal letters.

I can communicate in simple and routine tasks that require a simple and direct exchange of information on activities and topics of daily life.

I am capable of very brief social exchanges, although I usually don't understand enough to carry on the conversation on my own.

I use a range of expressions and phrases to describe, in simple terms, my family and other people, my living conditions, my educational background and my current or last job.

I can write short, simple notes and messages regarding my immediate needs. I can write very simple personal letters, for example thanking someone for something.
