Prerequisites

Successful completion of the module "Cybersecurity essentials" (C1530) or proof equivalent certified knowledge. Recommended knowledge and skills: in Basic Windows and Linux system concepts; Basic Networking concepts; Binary and Hexadecimal understanding; Awareness of basic programming concepts; Awareness of basic SQL queries.

Goals

  • Install virtual machines to create a safe environment for implementing and analysing cybersecurity threat events.
  • Explain the Windows and the Linux Operating System features and characteristics needed to support cybersecurity analyses.
  • Monitor, detect and respond to cybersecurity threats.
  • Covers cryptography, host-based security analysis, security monitoring computer forensics, attack methods and incident reporting and handling.
  • Deepen knowledge indetecting and respond to security incidents.
  • Identify, classify, analyse the impact by using network monitoring tools against network protocols and services.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
