Goals

The objective of this 72-lesson Luxembourgish language course is to prepare students to take the language exam required to obtain Luxembourgish nationality. The course focuses on vocabulary enrichment, grammar mastery, oral and written comprehension, as well as cultural awareness.

Students should be able to communicate effectively in everyday situations, expand their vocabulary and grammar, understand spoken and written Luxembourgish, and become familiar with Luxembourgish culture and customs.

The overall objective is to give students the linguistic and cultural skills necessary to pass the language exam and obtain Luxembourg nationality.

Contents

At the end of the course, students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Basic communication skills: Students should be able to communicate effectively in everyday situations, such as introducing themselves, asking for directions, ordering food at a restaurant, and engaging in simple conversations with locals.
  • Vocabulary enrichment: Students should be able to expand their vocabulary by learning common words and expressions used in Luxembourgish, including idioms and colloquialisms.
  • Grammar Mastery: Students should have a good understanding of Luxembourgish grammar, including the use of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, prepositions and pronouns. They should also be able to use grammatical structures correctly.
  • Listening comprehension: Students should be able to understand spoken Luxembourgish, including different accents and dialects, as well as audio materials such as podcasts and newsletters.
  • Reading comprehension: Students should be able to read and understand written Luxembourgish texts, including news articles, short stories and simple literary works.
  • Writing skills: Students should be able to write in Luxembourgish, including drafting emails, letters and short paragraphs, using correct spelling, grammar and vocabulary.
  • Cultural awareness: Students should have an understanding of Luxembourg culture, customs and traditions, and be able to use appropriate language and behaviors in various social situations.

Teaching methods

All our courses combine a variety of activities: reading, listening, speaking, grammar exercises and speaking. This variation of classroom exercises allows students to stay tuned during the lesson.
