Definition

The EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.

Comment

  • The objective of Erasmus+ is to promote:

    • learning mobility of individuals and groups, and cooperation, quality, inclusion and equity, excellence, creativity and innovation at the level of organisations and policies in education and training;
    • non-formal learning mobility and active participation among young people, and cooperation, quality, inclusion, creativity and innovation at the level of organisations and policies dealing with the young;
    • mobility of sport staff, and cooperation, quality, inclusion, creativity and innovation at the level of sport organisations and sport policies;
  • the European added value of the actions and activities of Erasmus+ shall be ensured through their:

    • transnational character, particularly regarding learning mobility and cooperation aimed at achieving a sustainable systemic impact;
    • complementarity and synergies with other programmes and policies at national, Union and international level;
    • contribution to the effective use of Union transparency and recognition tools;
  • the 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.
