This training is for you if you are looking to have a general overview of IFRS, understand some of their most common concepts and be able to apply them in practice.

Prerequisites

No previous IFRS experience required. A solid accounting knowledge is a must.

Goals

At the end of the training, the participants will be able to:

  • understand the basic concepts and rules of IFRS
  • apply the IFRS rules in practice
  • prepare a set of financial statements in accordance with IFRS

Contents

  • IFRS Standards - presentation and application
  • General information on IAS/IFRS, objectives, characteristics
  • Presentation standards:
    • Presentation of financial statements (IAS 1, 7, 8, 10,...)
    • Consolidation (IAS 27, 28, IFRS 3, IFRS 10)
  • Recording, processing, and reporting business transactions and events in accordance with international financial reporting standards including:
    • Non-financial assets: inventory, fixed assets, intangible assets. Recognition, measurements and derecognition as well as impairment, depreciation and amortisation techniques.
    • Non-financial liabilities: basic understanding of leases (IFRS 16), provisions and contingent liabilities.
    • Financial liabilities: basic understanding of loans (IFRS 9).
    • Revenue, taxes, and the effects of changes in foreign exchange rates: IFRS 15, IAS 12 and IAS 21.

Certificate, diploma

At the end of the training, the participants will receive a certificate of attendance delivered by the House of Training.
