Contents

Talking about yourself – on stage, in a pitch, or on your website – what’s so difficult in that? After all, it is about you – who would know you better than you?

The reality is, though, that it can be incredibly difficult. How much do you tell and in what detail? How can you be accurate in describing your awesomeness, without being seen as aggressive and “in your face”? What about all those cultural reflexes that are telling you “Who do you think you are? Keep yourself small and don’t put yourself out there”?

The problem is: if we don’t get out there and talk about ourselves, no one else is going to do it for us.

So, how do we reach a balance of compelling and interesting, while not being seen as “too much”?

It all comes down to crafting your story.

This workshop will show you how to use the Hero’s journey – a classic pattern of storytelling that is used in all sorts of stories from classic myths to Star Wars to Harry Potter – to tell your story in a compelling and resonating way.
