Identification of non-formal and informal learning
Definition
Process of defining the knowledge, know-how, information, values, skills and competences acquired by an individual in non-formal and informal learning settings, to make them visible and allow for their assessment and certification (partial or full qualification).
Comment
Identification is the first of the four phases of validation of non-formal and informal learning:
identification of the learning outcomes through dialogue with the individual;
documentation to make visible the individual’s learning outcomes;
assessment of those outcomes;
certification which may lead to a partial or full qualification.
